Manufacturing & Selling in China & Vietnam

Are you manufacturing and selling your products in China or Vietnam?

China

According to GS1 China’s requirement, overseas companies manufacturing and distributing products in China will need to file in their barcodes with GS1 China and get verification from GS1 Singapore.

These are the following guidelines:


1) Get your barcode (Global Trade Item Number – GTIN) from GS1 Singapore for your product which will be manufactured and sold in China. To find out more on how to get a barcode, please click here to check out various types of membership categories.



2) Once you received your company prefix, you are to provide your product information into weCATALOG. Product information must be completed in order to be approved.



3) Register an account via http://glb.ancc.org.cn/WSBA/ancclogin.jsp



4) After we have verified your product information in weCATALOG; please use GS1 China declaration forms send to GS1 Singapore for verification.



5) We will send your verified forms to GS1 China on your local membership.



6) Once the verification process is completed by GS1 China, the approval will be sent to your company and GS1 Singapore.

Vietnam

According to General Department of Vietnam Customs, when conducting inspection, supervision or other activities relating to exported goods, if signs of violation are found, the competent authority will carry out physical inspection of goods and request the enterprise to present the authorisation to use the barcodes issued by the brand owner or foreign competent authority for inspection.

These are the following guidelines:

1) Get your barcode (Global Trade Item Number – GTIN) from GS1 Singapore for your product which will be manufactured and sold in Vietnam. To find out more on how to get a barcode, please click here to check out various type of membership categories.

2) Once you received your company prefix, you are to provide your product information into weCATALOG. Product information must be completed in order to be approved.

3) Singapore Registered company to issue an authorisation note on their official letterhead that they authorised their Vietnam counterpart (Please list out the Vietnam company’s name, address, Business License Number) to produce products with their GS1 Singapore Company Prefix number for the purpose of (sales/import/export) – please fill in this accordingly and the product information (GTIN, Brand, Product Description).

4) Vietnam counterpart to send the authorisation form and their GTINs to: msmv@nbc.gov.vn

5) GS1 Vietnam will verify with GS1 Singapore

6) GS1 Singapore will validate against the products information and reply to GS1 Vietnam.
