Important Update

Dear Valued Members and Partners,

We are pleased to announce an exciting development at GS1 Singapore Limited – we’re moving to a new office! This move will allow us to enhance our ability to serve you effectively.

Benefits of Our New Office:

  • Enhanced Convenience: Our new office at 438A Alexandra Road, #04-01/02, Alexandra Technopark, Singapore 119967, will make it easier for you to visit or collaborate with us.
  • Improved Collaboration Facilities: We will be equipped with state-of-the-art meeting spaces, fostering even more productive interactions and teamwork.

Please note that our office will be relocating to the new address from 15th July 2024. This will be a temporary location at Level 4 until we move to Level 1 of the building permanently. While our current office will be closed on 31st May 2024, we will continue to operate remotely to ensure seamless service. There will be no disruption to communication; our email addresses and website will remain unchanged.

We are truly excited about this new chapter for GS1 Singapore. Look forward to welcoming you to our new space in the future.

GS1 Singapore and i-Sprint Innovations co-organised the seminar titled, “Explore the power of GS1 2D Barcodes: Boost Your Brand Reputation and Connect with Your Customers”.

We want to express our sincere gratitude to all our members and attendees who joined us on 29 May 2024 for a day packed with learning and collaboration. It was inspiring to see such a passionate crowd eager to delve into the world of 2D barcodes & cutting-edge anti-counterfeit solutions!

The seminar took a deep dive into two key areas:

  • GS1 Singapore shared the global migration to 2D initiatives and discussed the potential of using QRcode with GS1 Digital Link. Real-world case studies brought these concepts to life, showcasing how GS1 barcodes are revolutionizing data capture and streamlining processes in retail and healthcare.
  • AccessReal was on the frontlines of the fight against counterfeiting. They identified the ever-evolving challenges across industries and explored advanced anti-counterfeiting technologies, including clone-proof capabilities, that seamlessly integrate with GS1 Standards.

This session was all about staying ahead of the curve and protecting brand reputation. Lively discussions sparked new ideas and connections were forged between attendees. It was truly a day of learning and growth.

Happy 50th scanniversary, barcode!

50 years of transforming tomorrow

On 26 June 1974, the very first scan of a barcode at Marsh Supermarket in Ohio, USA, transformed grocery checkout.

50 years ago, the GS1 barcode was scanned for the first time, and since then each “beep” makes it easier and safer to buy and sell products.

Industry leaders came together to transform the way we shop and created the barcode. From that point forward, a simple scan at checkout connected a physical product to its digital identity—and information that could be shared throughout the supply chain and with consumers. For five decades, every beep of a barcode—with GS1 standards behind it—has powered trust for everyone everywhere.

Digital transformation will unlock limitless possibilities for businesses, people and the planet.

Our future has never looked brighter. QR Codes powered by GS1 are transforming the simple scan, opening a gateway of in-depth product information.
